Dear Smart Construction 3D Machine Guidance users
We are writing to inform you that a bug has been identified in the “Pilot UPD” application (v0.14.0) for rewriting the firmware of the controller you are using.
Issue:
When “UPDATE FIRMWARE” is selected in the normal procedure with controllers which FW is v2.0.4 or lower, initialization of the configuration file is also executed, and the controller settings (sensor ON/OFF), license information, GNSS settings (Ntrip settings) and bucket files are initialized.
Therefore, please do not perform the FW rewriting of the controller in the normal procedure.
・Normal procedure
*Please do not touch OK after “WARNING: Settings will be initialized” is displayed.
Cause:
Bug of “Pilot UPD” application (v0.14.0) released on 4/23 (Wed.)
If the controller's FW is v2.0.4 or lower and the above procedure is performed, initialization of settings is also performed at the same time (initialization does not occur when updating from v2.0.5).
Temporary action:
Specify the file from “Use local file” and rewrite the file.
If an update is necessary, select the file “dualf9p-fw-2340.bin” in the “Pilot Updater” from the “Use local file” menu to update without initializing the configuration file.
(If the file does not appear properly, please save the file attached at the end of this article to any folder on your tablet.)
・Upgrading from local files
Permanent action:
A countermeasure version (v0.14.1) of the Pilot UPD was released on Tuesday, 2025/5/13.
After this version, the controller can be rewritten as usual.
・Fixed that initialization of settings is not executed even if the controller's FW is v2.0.4 or lower.
