Smart Construction Edge Update Notice Due to Certificate Expiry

To all Smart Construction Edge users,
Thank you for continuing to use our services.
The server certificate installed on some Smart Construction Edge units has expired.

As a result, you will need to update the Edge2 software as described below.

・Devices with expired certificates are listed below.
・All other devices support automatic certificate renewal and are not affected.

■ Required action

• Target application: Edge2 application
• Required action: Update the Edge2 application firmware to version 12.5.1
• Result: The update will renew the certificate expiry date

■ If the update is not performed
If you do not perform the update, you will no longer be able to connect to the Edge2 application.
In that case, you will need to restore access using the procedure below.
 

■ How to restore access after the certificate expires
Follow the steps below.
(1) Turn on the Edge and wait until the Edge LED lights up solid green.
(2) Connect your tablet to the Edge's Wi-Fi network.
(3) If the application does not start and the error message shown in the image below appears:

Note: If you cannot access the page, clear the Safari history and try again.
⇒ Go to "Settings" → "Safari" → "Clear History and Website Data", select "All history", enable "Close All Tabs", and tap "Clear History". For more information, refer to the following article.
Tap Safari and enter the URL "http://scedge.local" directly to access it.
→ The message "This Connection Is Not Private" will appear.

(4) When "This Connection Is Not Private" appears:
Step 1: Tap "Show Details" at the top of the error screen.
Step 2: An explanation will appear.
Step 3: Tap the "visit this website" link.
Step 4: If a confirmation screen appears, tap "Visit Website".
Step 5: The site will open.

(5) Tap "Launch Application" below Step 2 on the screen.

(6) An update screen, the same as in the application, will appear. While connected to the internet, tap "Update".
